Virtual Registered Dietitian care across Alberta

Helpful details

Questions people ask before booking.

Starting care shouldn't mean decoding a complicated process. Here are answers to the questions people most often have about working with Numii.

Getting Started

01What services do you offer?

Numii Nutrition provides one-on-one nutrition care for adults across Alberta, with a focus on chronic disease and related health concerns. This includes kidney disease, diabetes, heart health, cancer, digestive concerns, malnutrition, and other nutrition needs.

The conditions listed on the website aren't an exhaustive list. If you're not sure whether Numii Nutrition can help with your concern, contact us or book a free 15-minute Discovery Call.

02Do I need to have a medical condition?

No. You don't need a diagnosis to work with Numii. You may be looking for support with a diagnosed condition, changes in your lab results or symptoms, or simply want professional guidance on supporting your health through nutrition.

03Can you help with more than one health concern?

Yes. Health conditions and nutrition needs often overlap, and your care doesn't need to focus on only one concern at a time. Katie considers how your health conditions, symptoms, medications, lab results, eating habits, and priorities fit together when making recommendations.

04Are nutrition recommendations personalized?

Yes. Recommendations are based on your health and nutrition needs as well as your eating habits, preferences, routines, and priorities. You'll work with Katie to decide what changes make sense for you rather than receiving a one-size-fits-all plan.

Booking & Appointments

05How do I choose the right appointment or service?

If you're new to Numii Nutrition and ready for nutrition care, start with a 60-minute Initial Assessment. This gives Katie enough time to understand your health and nutrition needs before making recommendations.

If you have questions before booking, the free 15-minute Discovery Call gives you an opportunity to ask about services and whether Numii Nutrition may be a good fit. Existing clients can choose a 45-minute Follow-Up or 30-minute Check-In depending on how much time and support they need.

Condition-specific packages are also available for clients who would like an assessment and ongoing support bundled together.

06How do I book?

Choose your appointment or package through the online booking page and select an available time. You'll complete the required intake information and receive confirmation of your appointment by email.

If you'd like to speak with Katie before booking an assessment, you can schedule a free 15-minute Discovery Call.

07Do I need a referral?

No. A referral from a physician or other healthcare provider is not required to book with Numii Nutrition.

08Are appointments by phone or video?

Both options are available, and you can indicate your preferred format in the intake form emailed to you after booking.

For video appointments, join using the meeting link in your booking confirmation email. For phone appointments, expect a call at your scheduled time using the number you provided.

09What should I have ready for my first appointment?

You don't need to prepare extensively. Bring your questions and, if available, a current medication and supplement list and any relevant lab results, test results, or other health information.

It can also be helpful to think about what has been most challenging or what you would most like help with. You don't need to prepare a perfect food record — Katie will guide the conversation.

10Can I book from outside Alberta?

Numii Nutrition currently provides virtual Registered Dietitian services to clients who are located in Alberta at the time care is provided.

If you'll be outside Alberta for an appointment, contact Numii Nutrition beforehand to confirm whether the appointment can proceed.

Cost & Policies

11What does an appointment cost?

A 60-minute Initial Assessment is $185. Follow-Ups are $150 for 45 minutes, and 30-minute Check-Ins are $100. A 15-minute Discovery Call is available at no cost.

Numii Nutrition also offers condition-specific packages that combine an assessment with follow-up care and additional support. Current package pricing and inclusions are listed on the Services page.

12Is this covered by Alberta Health Care?

No. Numii Nutrition is a private practice, so appointments are not covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.

13What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a $50 fee for individual bookings or forfeiture of the session for package clients.

14What should I know before purchasing a package?

Payment is collected in full following your initial assessment, and remaining follow-up sessions will be scheduled at that time. Packages are non-transferable and intended for one client only. If you discontinue a package before all sessions are completed, you'll be refunded the amount paid, less the standard rate of completed sessions.

Credentials & Privacy

15What's the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist?

In Alberta, Registered Dietitian, Dietitian, Registered Nutritionist, and Nutritionist are protected titles used by regulated members of the College of Dietitians of Alberta.

Other titles — such as nutrition coach, holistic nutritionist, or clinical nutritionist — do not by themselves indicate registration with the College. If you're comparing providers, you can verify a Registered Dietitian's registration through the College's public register.

16How is my health information handled?

Client records and health information are stored and managed through Numii Nutrition's secure practice management system. Numii Nutrition handles personal and health information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and professional record-keeping standards.

For more information about what information is collected, how it is used and stored, and your privacy rights, please review the Privacy Policy.

Email should not be used to send detailed or sensitive health information. Health information is best shared through the appropriate secure client channels or during your appointment.
